    My first worship album, before chlldrens ministry, before Kingdom Kids and before the Spicy Camels.

    A few Psalms put to music to be used in Worship or performance.

    Now Digitally re-mastered the The recordings and arrangements sound a bit dated to my ears and very cheesy to me, but my mum loved it and still does & I guess that its a good way of memorising the bits of the bible.

    I still live with a story told by a good friend just after i did this album. He was then a social worker working in Liverpool and had the cassette of the album on in his car whilst escorting a young offender.

    The young man begged and pleaded with my friend for the cassette. Why , 'you cant like this type of music?' he inquired. 'Your right' said the youth, 'i just want it so i can church it out of the window'.
    Well we all had to start somewhere for me it was in a studio under a church, next to the gents in Bolton.

    So for my mum here is Refuge & strength.

Track Name: Psalm 56
Psalm 56
Be merciful to me, O God, for men hotly pursue me;
all day long they press their attack eager to take my life
My slanderers pursue me all day long;
many are attacking me in their pride.

When I am afraid, I will trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise,
in God I put my trust; I will not be afraid.

All day long they twist my words;
they are always plotting to harm me.
They conspire, they lurk, eager to take my life.
On no account let them escape;
in your anger, O God, bring down the nations.
Record my lament;
list my tears on your scroll

When I am afraid, I will trust in you.
In God, whose word I praise,
in God I put my trust; I will not be afraid.

Then my enemies will turn back
when I call for help.
By this I will know that God is for me.
In God, whose word I praise,
in the LORD, whose word I praise-
In God I trust; I will not be afraid.

I am under vows to you, O God;
I will present my thank offerings to you.
For you have delivered me from death
my feet from stumbling,
that I may walk before God
in the light of life
that I may walk before God
in the light of life
Track Name: Psalm 48
Psalm 48
Great is the LORD, and most worthy of praise,
in the city of our God, his holy mountain.
It is beautiful in its loftiness,
the joy of the whole earth.
Like the utmost heights of Zaphons Mount Zion,
      .
God is in her citadels;
he is her fortress.
the city of the Great King
When the kings joined forces,
when they advanced together,
they saw her and were astounded
Trembling seized them there,
pain like that of a woman in labor.
You destroyed them like ships of Tarshish
shattered by an east wind.
As we have heard,
so have we seen
in the city of the LORD Almighty,
in the city of our God:
God makes her secure forever.
Selah
Within your temple, O God,
we meditate on your love.
Like your name,
your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;
Mount Zion rejoices,
the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments.
your right hand is filled with righteousness
Walk about Zion, go around her,
count her towers,
consider well her ramparts,
view her citadels,
tell the next generation.
this God is our God who will guard us forever
Track Name: Psalm 18
Psalm 18
The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer;
the Lord he is my rock in whom I take refuge.
He is my shield and the strength of my salvation

I call to the LORD, who is worthy of praise,
I am saved from my enemies.
The cords of death entangled me;
the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me.

He parted the heavens and came down;
He mounted the cherubim and flew;
Out of the brightness of his presence clouds advanced,
with hailstones and bolts of lightning.
for all who take refuge in him.
And who is the Rock except our God?
He makes my feet like the feet of a deer;
he enables me to stand on the heights.
The LORD lives! Praise be to my Rock!
Exalted be God my Saviour!
Track Name: Psalm 71
Psalm 71
For you have been my hope, O Sovereign LORD,
my confidence since my youth.
I have relied on you;
you brought me forth from my mother's womb.
I will ever praise you.
I have become like a portent to many,
but you are my strong refuge.
My mouth is filled with your praise,
declaring your splendor all day long.
Do not cast me away when I am old and grey;
do not forsake me when my strength is gone.
For my enemies speak against me;
conspire to kill me They say, "God has forsaken him;
pursue him and seize him,
for no one will rescue him."
come quickly, O my God, to help me.

But as for me, I will always have hope;
I will praise you more and more.
My mouth will tell of your righteousness,
of your salvation all day long, proclaim your mighty acts, O Sovereign LORD;
your righteousness, yours alone.

praise you with the harp
for your faithfulness, O my God;
sing praise to you with the lyre,
O Holy One of Israel.
Track Name: Psalm 91
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of El Shaddi
I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge
Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you under his wings

A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
if you make the Most High your dwelling—
even the LORD, who is my refuge-
then no harm will befall you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
You will tread upon the lion and the cobra;
"Because he loves me," says the LORD, "I will rescue him for he acknowledges my name.
With long life will I satisfy him
and show him my salvation."
Track Name: Song of Moses Deuteronomy 32
I will proclaim the name of the LORD.
Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
He is the Rock, his works are perfect,
and all his ways are just.
A faithful God who does no wrong,
upright and just is he.
I will proclaim the name of the LORD.
Oh, praise the greatness of our God!
Track Name: Psalm 15
O LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?
O LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?
He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart
and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
casts no slur on his fellowman,
who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
who keeps his oath even when it hurts,
who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
He who does these things will never be shaken,
will never be shaken.
Track Name: Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
waters roar with their surging.

There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God,
the holy place where the Most High dwells.
God is within her, she will not fall;
God will help her at break of day.
Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall;
he lifts his voice, the earth melts.
The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Come and see the works of the LORD,
the desolations he has brought on the earth.
He makes wars cease to the ends of the earth;
he breaks the bow and shatters the spear,
burns the shields [b] with fire.

"Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth."

The LORD Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Track Name: Build yourselves up doxology Jude 20-24
build yourselves up
build yourselves up in your most holy faith
praying in the Holy Spirit.

Keep yourselves in, keep yourselves in
In God's love
waiting for Jesus' Christ's mercy

Be merciful to those who doubt;
snatch others from the fire
to others show mercy, mixed with fear
remember the apostles said
scoffers they would come
and so to the faith we must adhere

Doxology
Now to him who is able
to keep you from falling
present you before his glorious presence

present you before his glorious presence
